Listed below are the ten different combinations for poker hands. They are in
order from the strongest poker hand, the Royal Flush, to the lowest hand, the
high card.

Royal Flush  
A Royal Flush consists of the five consecutive highest cards of the same suit.
This is the highest possible hand in poker (without jokers).  

Straight Flush  
A Straight Flush consists of the five consecutive cards of the same suit.  

Four of a kind  
Four cards of the same rank - such as four Aces as shown. Four of a kind is
also know as Quads.  

Full House  
A Full House consists of three cards of one rank and two cards of another
rank. We have shown Aces over Queens in the example.  

Flush  
A Flush is any five cards of the same suit.  

Straight  
A straight consists of five consecutive cards not all in the same suit.  

Three of a kind  
Three cards of the same rank - such as three Queens as shown. Three of a
kind is also know as Trips.  

2 pair  
Two pairs consist of a hand with four cards which two are the same rank. In
our example, we have a hand with two pairs, Queens and Jacks.  

1 pair  
A pair consists of a hand with two cards of the same rank. In our example, we
have a pair of Aces.  

High card  
This hand consists of no cards that fit any of the combinations listed above.
When two or more people have this hand, the person with the highest card
wins the hand.
